Welcome to the Fort McMurray Football Academy - Flag Football League, where the game is all about fun, skill development, and competition. As Fort McMurray’s first and only Football Academy, we are proud to offer the local community the opportunity to participate in one of Canada’s fastest growing sports: Flag Football. With Flag Football making its debut as an official Olympic Sport in 2028, we are excited to kick off the 2024 season and support the growing football community within Fort McMurray and Canada.

Our organizational philosophy is centered around inclusivity and providing a positive sporting experience for all. If you are an experienced football player looking to refine your skills, a former athlete looking for a fun way to stay active, or a beginner looking to try something new and exciting, everyone is welcome in our Flag Football League. With both Youth and Adult Leagues available, we are committed to providing a positive and rewarding experience to athletes of all ages and abilities. Whether you are registering as an individual looking to meet new people or are signing up your team to compete for the Championship, we have something to offer for everyone. No prior football experience needed, learn while you play.

“Growing up in Fort McMurray, I am proud to contribute to the growing football community and support our local youth. I grew up playing football at Westwood Community High School and eventually went on to play at the University of British Columbia. In my youth, football is what kept me motivated to stay in school and achieve my best both on and off the field. As a former CIS Academic All-Canadian, I know the immense value football can bring to those who love the game. As a dedicated teacher, athletic director, and Head Coach of the Fort McMurray Football Academy, my goal is to make a positive impact in the community in every way possible.”

Jasmine Murphy (Assistant Coach/Admin)

 

Hello, I am Jasmine Murphy, the head of administration and assistant coach for Fort McMurray Football Academy. My role allows me to bring structure and support to the programs while ensuring smooth operations and a positive environment for growth and success on and off the field. My passion for organization and leadership allows me to gather the logistical aspects of the Program while also being able to work with players to enhance their skills. While I have always been a fan of football, my true passion lies in bringing people together through the sport. I believe in the power of sports to unite and inspire, and I love encouraging kids to step out of their comfort zones and strive for their goals. I'm looking forward to a great first season.

FMFA Men’s Flag Football League (18+)

​

This league is intended for adults 18+ who are looking for a fun, exciting, and competitive football experience. If you are looking for a competitive league to test you and your team's skills against the competition, our Men’s League is the place for you. The upcoming season will include 6 regular season games and 2 playoff games including a league championship game. Teams will be composed of 10-15 players. You may register as an individual or as a team. If you are registering as a team, please ensure all players register for the same team (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow). Team spots will be on a first-come first-serve basis. If you are registering as an individual, you may register for any team with open spots. Teams will be finalized at the registration deadline and no new players may added to the roster. Official Schedule will be posted on July 15 2024.

FMFA Coed Flag Football League (18+)

​This league is intended for adults 18+ who are looking for fun, inclusive, and enjoyable football experience. If you are new to football, looking for a fun way to stay active, or simply want to meet new people, this is the league for you!
