What are the dates of the summer sessions?
Our summer sessions are composed of two 2-day sessions in August
Session 1 - August 8 & 9
Session 2 - August 22 & 23
We will be holding a longer 8-Week Season in Fall 2025 ( September - November) Registrations for Fall Season is NOW OPEN

We have registration deadlines to ensure we have enough registrants to conduct a league - IF ever we do not have enough players registered in a league by that deadline, you will get an automatic refund back to the card used at checkout

We will continue to open registrations for new registrants to the finalized leagues established prior to registration deadline until the leagues reach capacity - once a league reaches capacity we will no longer be accepting any registrants until next season.

where will the sessions be held?
Summer Season Location: All sessions will be held at the Birchwood Football Field in Thickwood in front of Doug Barns Cabin beside the tennis courts

Fall Season Location: All sessions will be held at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre on the turf field

What is the price to register for the upcoming Seasons?
Summer Season: $50/Session - 2 Days per Session
Fall Season: $195 for Full 8 Week Season
Payment will be required in order to register and reserve your spot for either upcoming season - We limit all leagues player count to 20/team, spots work on a first come first serve basis.
If there is not enough registrants for a league to play you will be given a full refund automatically to the card used at checkout - Emails will be sent out the day after registration deadline detailing the finalized schedule and any info needed for the season.
what equipment do i need?
All you will need is a pair of athletic shoes and a water bottle (CLEATS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE INDOOR TURF - Only applicable for Fall & Winter Seasons). We will provide the practice jerseys (Personalized ones available for purchase), flags, footballs, and officials. All you need to do is show up and play!
can i request to be on the same flag football team as a friend?
All youth league teams will be made game day by the Head Coach prior to starting the games based on the number of players in attendance to keep the games fair, competitive, and most importantly fun!
what to expect if i order clothes?
All clothing orders must be made before August 31 2025 @ 12Noon for our Fall Season
- Your clothing will be issued on your first day of session
- Please Arrive 10 minutes early to sign in and get your items
( IF there are any delays you will be notified prior to game day )
- All clothing is FINAL SALE - No changes after order is placed
what if i miss the clothing order deadline?
- We will have a small amount of merchandise available for purchase (E-Transfer or Cash) at each session

What if I am unable to attend a game?
If you are unable to attend a game during the season the game will go on as scheduled - We do not require any notice if you can not make a game we only hope you are doing well and that we see you next time! Games will not be rescheduled/refunded if there is not enough players to field a team.
What is the refund policy?
If you require a refund please send us an email at Info@FMFA.ca
BEFORE our Registration Deadline for that season. NO REFUNDS will be given AFTER registration deadline unless course is cancelled.
Refunds will be applied back to the card used at checkout in registration.
If a course is cancelled you will automatically get a full refund to the card used at checkout.
HOW DO I PAY THE REGISTRATION FEES?

If you need to e-transfer please shoot us an email at info@fmfa.ca and we can give you the instructions and e-transfer information needed
You may also be eligible to apply for kidsport funding that will cover the full cost of the program - If you are interested, message us for more details!
cancellations of games
If for any reason the game/session is cancelled on FMFA behalf we will reschedule the game missed to a later time or offer a credit equivalent to the session cancelled. Emails will be sent verifying the change and options regarding the cancellation.
weather conditions for outdoor seasons
As we all know, Fort McMurray's weather can be quite unpredictable, with heat, smoke, and rain. We want to clarify our policies on canceling our outdoor sessions:
1.) We play rain or shine, but we will cancel for lightning or excessive rain.
2.) If air quality is above 7+ on this site - Air Quality (https://weather.gc.ca/airquality/pages/abaq-004_e.html) 2 hours before the first session of the day, we will cancel all sessions scheduled for that day
If we do have to cancel a session, we'll provide alternative options for all registrants via email and post updates on all our social media channels regarding the changes. Stay tuned and stay safe! ☀️💧
